Got some change? - 2002-03-06 3:36 p.m.
Somebody rammed my car last Friday. He paid for the repairs and I'm not that satisfied with the job they did. Same 'ol same 'ol. Lately, I've been opening up the 'Add an entry' page, and always find myself without ideas. I thought this job would be more challenging than before, but in the end I find myself being bored out of my bones. There's no challenge at all. No new technologies for me to research on. When a vendor comes, I just sit down and listen, and evaluate their products from a security perspective. Gone are the days of running new applications when a new interface or API arrives from the technology resourcers. I miss solving problems for the clients. Like when a thing does not run, or when they require solutions that forces me to utilize all my available brain cells until I have none anymore especially after a project. It's not that I'm not learning anything. On the contrary, I'm learning more about other stuff and I find that there are lots of things that I can learn here. But it's kinda boring. It's an end-user thing. I'm a techie. Words like 'Research and Development' make me go 'gaga'. Words like 'cutting down expenses for R&D' makes me want to resign. But I understand. After all, this is an end-user environment I'm currently in. Well, at least the pay's okay and the job's stable. If I want more excitement, I should join a circus. Currently listening to Sheryl Crow - "A Change Would Do You Good". Hehe!
