Hi Fret Surfer, Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate any that we get. Perhaps I can help explain why the prices are higher here. The simple reason is the taxation the Malaysian government applies to all portable music devices. It is a 21% duty. The iPod falls into this category. I understand your frustration, but you must understand that the resellers also want to sell more, and higher prices don't help. What can we do when the product arrives at our stores with prices inclusive of duties? Are we going to smuggle them in and circumvent the import duties? No, I don't think so. I would also like to add that many customers, such as yourself, seem to confuse Apple Malaysia with the AppleCentres. AppleCentres like the ones from MacAsia, are wholly independent from Apple Malaysia. However, pricing is set by Apple Malaysia. I do hope that this clears up any misconception that Apple Malaysia and the AppleCentres are here fleece customers. Do let me know if you have any other queries. Rgds, Wan Chun Hung MacAsia Sdn Bhdhttp://www.macasia.com.my AppleCentre @ Great Eastern Mall AppleCentre @ 1Utama - Phase 2 Apple Professional Video Reseller I sent an e-mail on their website asking about reasons the 40GB 4th Gen I-pod is priced RM350 more than Singapore. And my e-mail wasn’t courteous either. I was really surprised to get back a reply e-mail less than 3 hours after I sent it. Even Citibank or RHB Bank took more than a day to answer my e-mails and that was written nicely. I’ve never bought anything ‘Apple’ before, but if this is an example of their services, than I would gladly and seriously look into Apple products. In fact I already bought a 40GB I-pod. Tapi dari S’pore lah. Pesan adik ipar belikan. 350 ringgit banyak wooo… .
